Bali is an amazing place to visit for so many reasons, a big one of them being the abundance of incredible food. We’ve spent a lot of our time in Bali eating our way around the island, so here are our favourite places we have eaten (so far)…
Strawberry Fields, Seminyak
Strawberry Fields is for sure one of our favourite places to eat in Bali. As soon as we saw the menu – full of incredible burgers, sides, smoothies and a really cool range of sauces, we knew it was going to be good. And it really delivered. We couldn’t help but over-order… the food coma after was completely worth it!
Coffee Cartel, Seminyak
We thought we knew a fair bit about brunch food until we stepped into Coffee Cartel and had breakfast bao and pink beetroot lattes. Everything we tried was seriously incredible, and everyone working there is so lovely.. we already can’t wait to get back and try more of their unique menu!
Suka Espresso, Uluwatu
We ate at Suka twice while we were in Uluwatu, once for breakfast and once for dinner and both times everything was incredible! We actually didn’t get to try the espresso, as when we went for breakfast the power had gone out in the area.. next time!
With it’s great atmosphere and delicious food, Crate is a great brunch/lunch spot. It’s really reasonable too, most things on the menu are 50k IDR, and the portions are huge! The restaurant apparently started on one floor and had to expand to have a second as it was so popular.
Shady Shack, Canggu
Shady Shack is seriously incredible! We’ve eaten a lot of amazing food in a lot of places, but this is the one we keep coming back to. Everything we’ve tried here has been amazing… from smoothie bowls, to big veggie breakfasts. Their nachos are also our favourite that we have ever tried. If you’re in Bali then you really have to check out Shady Shack.
Melting Wok, Ubud
Melting Wok has been one of our favourite places to eat in Bali for sure. It’s a small menu which changes a lot, and consists mainly of curries with rice or noodles. We went for the veggie curry with noodles and it was so, so good! We’d highly recommend it, but if you do want to go then booking in advance is pretty essential.
Nalu Bowls, Everywhere
Nalu bowls is a must-do in Bali! The smoothie bowls are so good – we especially love the J-Bay (peanut butter) and Acai bowls. There are so many Nalu’s around Bali, so you shouldn’t have a problem finding one – we visited them in Uluwatu and Canngu.
Cafe Organic, Canggu/Seminyak
Cafe Organic is a nice stop for healthy, and very instagrammable food in a lovely setting. They only serve up until 4pm (the Canggu branch at least), so go for breakfast or lunch. The prices are a little higher, but it’s still worth checking out if you fancy some tasty health food while you’re in the area.
Lazy Cats Cafe, Ubud
While you’re in Ubud be sure to make a stop at Lazy cats. The setting is really lovely, it even has a little balcony overlooking Ubud town that you can sit at. The food and coffees we had were delicious.
Peloton Supershop, Canggu
Peloton Supershop is a vegan cafe (they’ve recently launched an evening menu too) and bike shop. The place itself is so cool, the coffee is seriously amazing, the coconut flat white was one of the best we’ve ever had! We tried the vegan nachos which were on the special’s menu, and weren’t completely sold on them… but the salad couldn’t have been better – so they still rank highly on the list. Maybe give the nachos a miss though.
Single Fin, Uluwatu
Single Fin has a prime spot overlooking Uluwatu beach, so is a great place to hang out and watch the swells or catch a great sunset. The food is also great – we went for breakfast which was delicious and pretty reasonable, and the lunch/dinner menus have us excited to go back! Definitely check it out.
Banana Flour Bakery, Canggu
Definitely one of our coolest food-stops in Bali! Everything here is made with flour which is made 100% from banana’s, so you can feel like you’re indulging in pastries and cakes, which are actually way healthier (and gluten free). Their coffee is amazing too!
Bu Mi, Canggu
Bu Mi is always heaving with people, and with good reason! You can get two huge plates of delicious, healthy Indonesian food that you pick yourself from the spread, for 80k IDR. Such a winner.
Next Level Cafe, Nusa Ceningan
Ok, so this one is technically Bali, but isn’t on the mainland. If you’re on the Nusa islands (which you should be, see why in our Nusa Island guide), then make sure you check this place out. One of the best smoothie bowls we’ve ever had, and the pizza is awesome too!
This is just the beginning of the list, we’ll be updating it as we go so be sure to check back in! Follow us on Instagram to stay in the loop.
